Assisted Living is a residential alternative that brings
together a combination of housing, personalized services and health care
to meet the individual needs of those who need help with activities of
daily living. The services generally offered in an assisted living
residence usually include three daily meals, housekeeping, laundry,
scheduled transportation, social and recreational activities, medication
management, health monitoring, help with activities of daily living such
as bathing, dressing, toileting, eating and walking, and access to
contracted health services.
Living facilities in Texas are governed by the Assisted Living Code.
When questions arise about what an assisted living residence must do,
may do, or may not do, the best thing to do is to look at the Code. You
