Texas Helps Seniors With Utility Bills

The State of Texas does not want older Texans to have to choose between paying for food, medicine and keeping their homes cool in the summer or warm in the winter. The Texas Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) offers help to low income Texans with paying monthly utility bills so they don't have to make such choices.

For some households the program will assist with paying up to 12 months of gas and electric bills, and may fully pay up to four of the highest energy bills during the year.

CEAP can also replace, repair and/or retrofit inefficient heating and/or cooling systems for eligible Texas residents.

More information about the program and eligibility guidelines are available at the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs website.

To locate the local CEAP enrollment office nearest you here is a county directory

Or you can call toll-free the Texas' Department of Housing and Community Affairs toll-free at 877-399-8939 Monday through Friday between 8 am and 5 pm.
